The “ZukunftsLabor” (FutureLab) is an innovation space that was developed in collaboration with Köln International School of Design and the City of Cologne. It was implemented as a part of the administrative reform, as well as of the city’s of digitization program.
The aim of this project was to create a space and methodical framework for change projects and processes within the city administration. Therefore we explored the city’s needs, developed prototypes of the interior, tested it in workshops, where we also tested the methods and finally build furniture.
The Lab was opened in April 2019 by Cologne’s Mayor Henriette Reker and City Director Dr. Stephan Keller and invited citizens of Cologne to an open day in early July 2019. The Lab is now used by the administration and is still being further developed.
